The Census
Every Being, Accounted For.
Across the 17 works counted so far, at least 122 beings and 4 things are known to live. Each was found, considered and entered by the artist's own hand. No count is ever final — should you find one he has missed, your name enters the Book.
Behind each painting lives a population. The artist finds every being, considers it, and enters it in the census under a permanent number. Those who return across works become characters, and in time receive a name under the law of the house. Only works the artist has closed are counted — and every figure is a floor: a number anyone may verify on the canvas, never a total, never an estimate.
The Characters
Those who return. Each holds a permanent number, a portrait chosen by the artist, and a rarity earned by arithmetic alone.
Complete the Set
Each character lives in one work or several. A collector's Passport records, by number, every being that lives in their painting — and names the characters still absent from their set.
Should you find a being the artist has missed, open the work and press «I spotted one». He looks at every claim himself; once confirmed, your name enters the Book beside its number.
